Technology in Education

Technology in education engages students no matter what area of curriculum they are learning. Students can relate to today's technology because they spend their free time playing video games or watching T.V. Therefore, anytime technology is used within the classroom students are willing to pay attention to the lesson. Technology provides teachers to show videos, allows students to use Internet resources, and allows everyone to be interconnected. An example of how technology is successfully used within the classroom was demonstrated to me in the fifth grade classroom I recently observed. The teacher used a website entitled "Brain Pop" which is filled with educational videos on every imaginable subject. As soon as the video was uploaded the students squealed with excitement and immediately listened intently about what the video was displaying. This is just one example of how technology can engage students into various lessons.
